Kiddy Korner Childcare and Preschool Hosts Healthy Heroes Event

Gold Canyon, AZ (July 11, 2015 10am-1pm)– Kiddy Korner Childcare and Preschool will join the University of Arizona Cooperative in providing families with FREE developmental screenings for children 1 month to 5 ½ years of age and FREE Hearing and Vision for Children 0 to 6 years of age. This event is to provide families with information and resources to live as Healthy Heroes!

Staff from the University of Arizona, Pinal County Cooperative Extension will be on hand to screen children for communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem solving, and personal/social skills based on their age, using the appropriate ASQ-3 questionnaire. Parents will receive a list of activities they can do with their children at home and each child will receive a free book with each completed questionnaire. A nutritionist as well as a nurse from U of A will provide information on healthy living for the whole family.

The event will take place in Kiddy Korner at 6021 S. Kings Ranch Rd., Suite 1-3, Gold Canyon. Farmers Insurance agent Dave Burden will have child identity kits available. Community 
Alliance Against Family Abuse, Desert Paws rescue www.desertpawsrescue.org, as well as other local businesses will provide small tokens of appreciation to all that attend. Kiddy Korner will be selling gently used toys/equipment with part of the proceeds going to participating organizations. Free refreshments will be available. Bring a non-perishable food item for Project Help.
